How We
Work

  • 7 principles of our team. Great products are built by strong teams — and strong teams need more than technical expertise.
  • We believe high performance comes from clear communication, trust, ownership, openness, and a genuine commitment to doing excellent work.
  • Our principles are not slogans. They are practical guidelines for how we collaborate, make decisions, handle disagreement, give feedback, and take responsibility for the work we do together.
← Our team

Principle 01

Respect

  • We treat each other professionally and with courtesy. Different opinions are welcome, and disagreement is part of doing good work — but it should never become personal.
  • Everyone should be able to ask questions, contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and express a different perspective openly.
  • Respect does not mean always agreeing. It means being able to disagree and continue working well together.

Principle 02

Intentional
Communication

  • We communicate clearly, calmly, and with purpose. We listen without interrupting, make our reasoning understandable, and work toward clear decisions and next steps.
  • We come prepared, keep meetings focused, and use each other’s time thoughtfully. Not every question needs a meeting, and not every message needs an immediate response.
  • Good communication is not about communicating more. It is about making communication useful.

Principle 03 · Candor and Constructive Feedback

Candor &
Feedback

  • We believe direct feedback makes people, products, and teams better. We focus on actions, decisions, and outcomes rather than personalities, and feedback should be specific, constructive, and useful.
  • We openly recognize what works, discuss what could be improved, acknowledge mistakes, and share what we learn from them. We should be able to give and receive feedback regardless of role or seniority.
  • The purpose of feedback is not criticism. It is improvement.

Principle 04 · Focus and Professional Boundaries

Focus &
Boundaries

  • We want people to have the space to do their best work. We keep professional spaces focused, inclusive, and comfortable for people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • No one should feel pressured to participate in personal conversations or debates unrelated to their work. We protect time for focused work, avoid unnecessary meetings, and recognize the boundary between professional responsibilities and personal time.
  • A healthy working environment gives people both clarity and space.

Principle 05

Openness &
Transparency

  • Anyone on the team can raise a question, challenge an idea, or ask for context. Good decisions improve when relevant information is available to the people making them.
  • We document important decisions and agreements, share knowledge, explain reasoning, and avoid unnecessary information silos. Openness does not require an immediate answer — some questions deserve time for thought, research, or reconsideration.
  • Transparency means making information and reasoning accessible — and being accountable for our decisions.

Principle 06 · Ownership, Focus, and High Standards

Ownership &
High Standards

  • We take responsibility for the commitments we make and the outcomes we help create. Our decisions are guided by value for the client and the product, while considering the long-term sustainability of what we build.
  • We keep priorities clear, follow important work through to completion, and maintain high standards for quality. We value urgency when it matters, but we do not confuse urgency with chaos or hours worked with impact.
  • Ownership means more than completing assigned tasks. It means understanding the goal, identifying problems, making thoughtful decisions, and caring about the result.

Principle 07

We Are
People

  • A company is more than projects, tickets, meetings, and job titles. We intentionally make room for conversations beyond immediate work and take an interest in the people we work with.
  • We value individual interests, experiences, perspectives, and life outside of work. We want ambitious people to be able to do meaningful, demanding work without creating an environment where work becomes their entire identity.
  • Strong professional relationships are built between people — not roles.

In short

High standards.
Human environment.

  • We want SG Systems to be a place where ambitious people can do meaningful work, challenge each other intellectually, take real ownership, continue learning, and produce work they are proud of.
  • That does not mean eliminating disagreement or making every conversation comfortable. Strong teams should be able to question assumptions, surface problems early, give direct feedback, make difficult decisions, and change their minds when better information becomes available.
  • High standards and a healthy working environment are not competing ideas. We believe the strongest teams require both.
